About the LRT Kelana Jaya Line

The LRT Kelana Jaya Line (KJL) is one of the three Light Rail Transit lines in Kuala Lumpur operated by Rapid KL (Prasarana Malaysia Berhad). Opened in 1998 as the Putra LRT and subsequently extended, it is the longest urban rail line in the Klang Valley at 46.4 km with 37 stations.

The KJL line is fully automated and driverless, using the Bombardier (now Alstom) Innovia LRT 300 trainsets. The line runs from Gombak in the northeast through KLCC, the Petronas Twin Towers area, and the central transportation hub at KL Sentral, continuing southwest through Kelana Jaya, Subang Jaya, and USJ to terminate at Putra Heights.

At Masjid Jamek, passengers can transfer to the LRT Ampang Line and LRT Sri Petaling Line. At KL Sentral, connections are available to KTM Komuter, KTM ETS intercity trains, KL Monorail, and the KLIA Express/Transit airport rail. At Putra Heights, the line provides an interchange with the LRT Sri Petaling Line, allowing cross-network journeys without returning to the city centre.

The Kelana Jaya Line is the highest-volume rail line in Malaysia. All passengers can pay using the Touch 'n Go card or MyRapid card. Fares are distance-based and range from RM 1.20 (adjacent stations in the same zone) to RM 4.80 (full end-to-end journey). Women-only coaches are designated on the first car of each train during operating hours.
