Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly (such as email address if you contact us), technical data automatically collected when you use the site (IP address, browser type, pages visited, referring URLs), and anonymous usage analytics to understand how people use TrainsTracking. We do not require account registration. We do not collect payment information — all ticket booking is handled by third-party official operators.

How We Use Your Information

We use the data we collect to: provide and improve the TrainsTracking service; monitor site performance and diagnose technical issues; understand how users navigate the platform to improve UX; respond to enquiries you send via our contact form; generate anonymous, aggregated statistics about train data popularity. We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data for targeted advertising.

Cookies & Tracking

TrainsTracking uses essential cookies required for the site to function correctly (session management, preference storage). We also use anonymous analytics via Google Analytics 4 (GA4) with IP anonymisation enabled. We also display advertisements served by Google AdSense, which may set cookies on your device to personalise ads based on your browsing activity. You can opt out of analytics cookies at any time using your browser settings or a reputable cookie opt-out tool.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

TrainsTracking uses Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies (such as the DSID, IDE, and __gads cookies) to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the internet. You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ad Settings (adssettings.google.com) or by visiting optout.aboutads.info. You can also opt out via your browser's cookie settings. For more information on how Google uses data when you visit our partners' sites, see: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Data Sharing & Third Parties

We use the following third-party services which may process your data under their own privacy policies: Google AdSense (advertising, see Advertising section above), Supabase (database infrastructure, hosted in EU), Vercel (hosting and CDN), Google Analytics 4 (anonymous usage analytics). When you click links to official booking sites (e.g., Amtrak, National Rail, irctc.co.in), you leave TrainsTracking and are subject to those sites' privacy policies.

Your Rights

If you are in the European Union or UK, you have rights under GDPR/UK GDPR including: the right to access data we hold about you; the right to rectification; the right to erasure ("right to be forgotten"); the right to object to processing; the right to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@trainstracking.com. We will respond within 30 days.

Contact & Data Controller

TrainsTracking is operated by TrainsTracking Inc. For any privacy-related queries, data access requests, or complaints, contact: privacy@trainstracking.com. If you're in the EU/UK and are unhappy with our response, you have the right to complain to your local data protection authority (e.g., ICO in the UK, your national DPA in the EU).
