The Railjet is OBB's flagship intercity product, connecting Vienna Hauptbahnhof (central station) with Salzburg in 2 hours 20 minutes, Innsbruck in 4 hours, Linz in 70 minutes, and Graz in 2 hours 40 minutes. Railjet trains also operate international services to Munich (3 hours 30 minutes), Frankfurt, Zurich, Budapest, and Prague. The Nightjet overnight sleeping train network, operated entirely by OBB, has become Europe's most extensive overnight rail service following DB's withdrawal from night trains in 2016, offering couchette and private sleeping cars from Vienna to Amsterdam, Hamburg, Brussels, Paris, Rome, and many other cities.
WESTbahn is Austria's private rail competitor, operating on the Vienna to Salzburg corridor using its own fleet of Stadler KISS double-deck trains. WESTbahn stops at St Polten, Amstetten, Linz Hauptbahnhof, Wels, Attnang-Puchheim, and Salzburg Hauptbahnhof at fares generally lower than OBB on the same route. Booking is available at westbahn.at. WESTbahn and OBB do not accept each other's tickets or travelcards.
Vienna's S-Bahn (S-Bahn Wien) is operated by OBB and serves Greater Vienna with eight lines radiating from the city centre through the Stammstrecke underground core corridor. Vienna U-Bahn (metro) at 5 lines is operated by Wiener Linien and runs 24 hours on Friday and Saturday nights. The Badner Bahn tram-train connects Vienna Oper to Baden bei Wien. OBB also operates the Postbus network of regional bus routes in rural areas where railways do not reach.
